For members seeking in-depth learning, Gilda’s Club Wisconsin offers lectures several times a month. Topics cover a wide range of cancer-related issues, including treatment and side effects, emotional well-being, therapeutic expression, nutrition, pain management, finances, legal considerations, caregiving, advocacy, and survivorship.

Many lectures are part of the Frankly Speaking About Cancer series, featuring up-to-date information presented by medical experts. These sessions give members the opportunity to ask questions, gain practical insights, and feel more confident navigating the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.

Cancer Transitions

Cancer Transitions focuses on key aspects of survivorship, including exercise, nutrition, emotional support, and ongoing medical care. Participants attend presentations, take part in group discussions, and explore the emotional and social challenges that often arise during the transition from active treatment to life after cancer.

This program is designed for individuals living in Wisconsin who want to develop practical skills to manage the short- and long-term effects of cancer, particularly during the first 24 months after treatment. It is recommended that participants have completed active treatment before joining.
